Op 20 April ontvangt Cas-co Pádraic E. Moore voor een lunch talk en studio visits. Tijdens de talk (12u30 — 14u00) vertelt Moore o.a. over zijn curatoriële praktijk. Bring your own lunch & van harte welkom voor een gesprek.
Pádraic E. Moore is schrijver, curator en kunsthistoricus. Hij behaalde een MA in Visual Art Practices aan IADT, Dublin (2007) en voltooide CuratorLab, het postgraduate programma van Konstfack University, Stockholm (2010). Moore was de inaugurele Ammodo Curatorial Programme Mentor bij De Appel, Amsterdam.
Moore’s praktijk wordt gevormd door de overtuiging dat visuele kunst alternatieve manieren van interactie mogelijk maakt in een wereld die steeds meer wordt geleid door technologische rationaliteit. Zijn curatoriële methodologie is nauwgezet maar subjectief en wordt bepaald door een acuut bewustzijn van de individuele positie van de kunstenaar. Hij is vooral geïnteresseerd in het formaat van de groepstentoonstelling als platform voor het maken van collectieve, kritische statements.
Moore is geïnteresseerd in culturele manifestaties van spiritueel engagement. Sinds 2009 richt zijn onderzoek zich op de invloed die esoterische filosofieën hebben gehad op de literaire en visuele kunsten. Verschillende projecten hebben onderzocht hoe organisaties zoals de Theosophical Society een vitale katalysator waren voor verandering in de kunst van de late 19e en vroege 20e eeuw. Moore’s projecten onderzoeken vaak hoe de hedendaagse cultuur esthetica en idealen heeft omarmd die door dergelijke esoterische tradities zijn geïnspireerd.
Moore is momenteel curator van Communal Enthusiasm, een tentoonstelling ter gelegenheid van het 75ste jaar van de oprichting van de Jan van Eyck Academie Maastricht. Recente projecten zijn onder meer: Super Feelings in de Appel, Amsterdam (2022) Tour Donas, een solotentoonstelling van Lucy McKenzie in Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin (2021), The Great Invocation, Garage Rotterdam (2021), Heavy Metal Parking Lot, Garage Rotterdam (2020), Orgonomics, Garage Rotterdam (2019) Letters of Last Resort, Damien and the Love Guru, Brussel (2018) en The Width of a Circle, W139, Amsterdam (2018).

Pádraic E. Moore is a writer, curator and art historian. He holds an MA in Visual Art Practices from IADT, Dublin (2007) and completed CuratorLab, the postgraduate programme at Konstfack University, Stockholm (2010). Moore was the inaugural Ammodo Curatorial Programme Mentor at De Appel, Amsterdam.
Moore’s practice is shaped by the belief that visual art enables alternative modes of interaction in a world increasingly led by technological rationality. His curatorial methodology is meticulous but subjective and is informed by an acute awareness of the artist’s individual position. He is particularly interested in the format of the group exhibition as a platform for making collective, critical statements.
Moore is interested in cultural manifestations of spiritual commitment. Since 2009 his research has focused upon the influence that esoteric philosophies have had upon the literary and visual arts. Several projects have explored how organisations such as the Theosophical Society offered a vital catalyst for change in late 19th and early 20th century art. Moore’s projects often examine how contemporary culture has embraced aesthetics and ideals informed by such esoteric traditions.
