Camille Van Meenen & Thibaud Leplat
Camille Van Meenen & Thibaud Leplat are two curators who shape the program at KOMPLOT in Brussels, providing space for young and mid-career artists exploring experimental practices.
ABOUT
Thibaud Leplat and Camille Van Meenen are members of the curatorial collective Komplot, where they collaborate with coordinator Pauline Salinas Segura to develop the exhibition cycle and public programme at the collective’s space in Anderlecht, Brussels.
Founded in 2002, Komplot is an open platform for contemporary art based in Brussels. The collective presents a diverse artistic programme that includes exhibitions, discussions, workshops, and encounters with both emerging and established artists. Komplot offers a springboard for artistic and curatorial experimentation, with a focus on exploring the exhibition as a tool for testing curatorial formats, supporting artistic practices, and promoting visibility and ethical exhibition practices within both artistic and economic frameworks.
Thibaud Leplat is a Brussels-based curator and writer. His work explores the intersections between artistic practices and research. Within this perspective, he is interested in the porosity between exhibitions, public programming, pedagogy and writing.
Currently, he is an associate curator at Komplot, where he co-organizes the artistic programming and contributes to the coordination of the cultural organization. He has previously worked at La Loge and ISELP (Brussels, BE), the Collectif Jeune Cinéma (Paris, FR), and the residency program of Collectif Blast (Angers, FR). He has collaborated with 019 (Ghent, BE), Supermarket Stockholm Independent Art Fair (Stockholm, SE), Krone Couronne (Biel/Bienne, CH), Art Brussels, Poelp (Brussels, BE), Le Festival des Cinémas Différents et Expérimentaux de Paris (FR), and the Belgian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (IT).
After studying fine arts and art history in France, Thibaud Leplat continued his education at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels, where he completed a Master’s degree in Exhibition Practices. Following this, he worked as a studio assistant at ArBa Esa. In 2022 – 2023, he co-directed discontinu, an exhibition program in Belgium focused on collaborations with emerging artists and non-institutional spaces. In 2024, he was awarded the Young Curators Programme and the SAFFCA Prize for an emerging curator.
Camille Van Meenen is a curator and chef based between Brussels and Antwerp. Currently, she is curator at Komplot Brussels, project coordinator at RendezVous — Brussels Art Week, and co-founder of Brussels-based art collective CASTOR. Developing an empathetic curatorial practice, she focuses on process-based and affect-oriented projects, reflecting on how we could reimagine our relations to one another within artistic processes. Investigating the notion of hosting, she aims to explore different formats through which the exhibition space can be a welcoming space for kind critical thought. She holds a postgraduate degree in Curatorial Studies at KASK & Conservatorium, Ghent (BE); has previously worked at 1646 Experimental Art Space, The Hague (NL) and A Tale of A Tub, Rotterdam (NL); and has collaborated with institutions such as celador, Brussels (BE); Cas-co, Leuven (BE); 019, Ghent (BE); Het Paviljoen, Ghent (BE); Kunsthal Extra City, Antwerp (BE); De Singel, Antwerp (BE), Kunsthal Gent (BE); Vleeshal, Middelburg (NL); and Prospects, Art Rotterdam (NL). In 2024, she participated in the 3rd edition of the Young Curators Programme, working together with the Petticoat Government as part of a one-year fellowship for the Belgian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale (IT). Aside from her curatorial practice, she is co-managing the kitchen at Rush Rush in Antwerp.
