ABOUT


Charles Rouleau is the coo­r­di­na­tor of Casino Display, the research and resi­d­en­cy satel­li­te of Casino Luxembourg, whe­re he runs resi­d­en­cy pro­grams, enga­ging in clo­se dia­lo­gue with artists throug­hout their research and con­cep­tu­al work. His cura­to­ri­al prac­ti­ce exa­mi­nes col­lec­ti­ve thin­king as an artis­tic research method and how per­so­nal and local nar­ra­ti­ves intertwi­ne with wider soci­al, cul­tu­ral, and eco­lo­gi­cal contexts. 

He devel­o­ped a European post-master’s pro­gram in col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with HEAR, La Cambre, KABK, and ENSAD Nancy, con­cei­ved as a labo­ra­to­ry for expe­ri­men­ta­ti­on and artistic/​curatorial research. Charles Rouleau also cre­a­ted inter­na­ti­o­nal resi­d­en­cy pro­grams with part­ners in Canada and Taiwan. Alongside his pro­fes­si­o­nal acti­vi­ties, he is pur­suing a doc­to­ral the­sis in artis­tic research at the University of Amsterdam, explo­ring the con­cept of the lit­to­ral as an eco­cri­ti­cal sound milieu.
