Rouge Royal is een kun­ste­naars­col­lec­tief gevormd door Stans Vrijsen (geb. 1995, België) en Sofia Boubolis (geb. 1981, België). Werkend tus­sen mate­ri­ë­le imi­ta­tie en spe­cu­la­tief onder­zoek, gebrui­ken ze schil­der­kunst, teken­kunst, instal­la­ties en archief­frag­men­ten om de rela­tie tus­sen mate­rie en geheu­gen te ver­ken­nen. Tijdens hun resi­den­tie in Cas-co in het voor­jaar van 2026 onder­zoch­ten ze de col­lec­tie van het Didactisch Museum voor Archeologie aan de KU Leuven en de over­een­kom­sten met de col­lec­tie van Musée L in Louvain-la-Neuve.

Deze nieuw ont­wor­pen vlag sluit hun resi­den­tie­pro­ject af en breidt het uit naar de open­ba­re ruim­te.

De ope­ning vindt plaats op woens­dag 23 sep­tem­ber in Cas-co, van­af 18:30 uur. Om 19:00 uur lopen we naar de vlaggenmast.

Rouge Royal is an artis­tic col­lec­ti­ve for­med by Stans Vrijsen (b. 1995, Belgium) and Sofia Boubolis (b. 1981, Belgium). Working bet­ween mate­ri­al imita­ti­on and spe­cu­la­ti­ve research, they use pain­ting, dra­wing, instal­la­ti­on, and archi­val frag­ments to explo­re the rela­ti­ons­hip bet­ween mat­ter and memo­ry. During their resi­d­en­cy at Off the Grid, Cas-co, in the Spring of 2026, they inves­ti­ga­ted the reser­ves of the Didactic Museum of Archaeology at KU Leuven, its echoes with Musée L’s col­lec­ti­on in Louvain-la-Neuve.

This new­ly com­mis­si­on­ned flag con­clu­des and extends their resi­d­en­cy pre­sen­ta­ti­on into public space. 

The ope­ning will take pla­ce on Wednesday the 23^rd of September, at Cas-co, from 18:30. At 19:00 we will walk towards the flagpole.
