Hoewel Lieselotte Vloeberghs en Maya Strobbe elkaar al een decennium lang kennen, is Tekening voor de lucht (#A0B4CF) hun eerste samenwerking. Lieselotte maakte de tekening als een bedanking voor de lucht, terwijl Maya de blauwheid ervan onderzocht. Ze vroeg weerlui allerhande om de kleur van de hemel op het moment van de inhuldiging (13 maart) van de vlag te voorspellen. Het resultaat is een werk dat zowel de onvoorspelbaarheid van de toekomst als de dankbaarheid voor de lucht weerspiegelt.
Maya Strobbe is een multidisciplinaire kunstenaar die werkt op het snijvlak van tekenkunst, grafisch ontwerp en kunstenaarsboeken. Haar praktijk onderzoekt de administratieve processen van het dagelijks leven via een distinctieve visuele taal die geïnformeerd is door de esthetiek van bureaucratie, regels en spel. Een belangrijk luik van Strobbe’s praktijk is RAMSDAM BOOKS, een uitgeversplatform voor kunstenaarsboeken.
De tekeningen, objecten en installaties van Lieselotte Vloeberghs spelen met de hiërarchie tussen mensen en niet-mensen. Ze ziet de (grotendeels gevonden of zelfgemaakte) materialen waarmee ze werkt als spelers in een maakverhaal en reflecteert ermee over zingeving, zorg en ecologie. Sinds 2024 is ze resident bij Cas-co.

Although Lieselotte Vloeberghs and Maya Strobbe have known each other for a decade, Drawing for the Sky (#A0B4CF) is their first collaboration. Lieselotte created the drawing as a thank-you to the sky, while Maya explored its blueness. She asked all sorts of weather forecasters to predict the color of the sky at the moment of the flag’s unveiling (March 13th). The result is a work that reflects both the unpredictability of the future and gratitude for the sky.
Maya Strobbe is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of drawing, graphic design, and artist’s books. Her practice explores the administrative processes of everyday life through a distinctive visual language informed by the aesthetics of bureaucracy, rules, and play. A key component of Strobbe’s practice is RAMSDAM BOOKS, a publishing platform for artist’s books.
Lieselotte Vloeberghs’ drawings, objects, and installations play with the hierarchy between humans and non-humans. She sees the materials she works with (mostly found or homemade) as players in a narrative of creation and uses them to reflect on meaning, care, and ecology. She has been a resident at Cas-co since 2024.
