Op 30.11 en 9.12 (6pm, Cas-co) kan je de per­for­man­ce van Kenzo Tokuoka, de hui­di­ge the­a­ter-resi­dent van Cirklabo en 30CC, ont­dek­ken. Tokuoka’s resi­den­tie kadert bin­nen Fringe en Cirklabo Festival. Van 1 tot 9 decem­ber werkt de Japans-Franse cir­cus- en land-art per­for­mer Kenzo Tokuoka in de the­a­ter­zaal van Cas-co. Tijdens zijn ver­blijf kan je op ver­schil­len­de momen­ten ken­nis­ma­ken met try-outs en expe­ri­men­ten gefo­cust op het acro­ba­ti­sche land-art pro­ces.

Kenzo Tokuoka, met meer dan vijf­tien jaar erva­ring als cir­cus­ar­tiest, heeft de cir­cus­kunst opnieuw gede­fi­ni­eerd door invloe­den van het Japanse erf­goed. Traditionele cir­cus­at­tri­bu­ten ver­vangt hij door natuur­lij­ke ele­men­ten zoals bam­boe­stok­ken. Hierdoor cre­ëert zich een geheel nieuw uni­ver­sum van artis­tie­ke expres­sie.

Kenzo brengt kunst, natuur en men­se­lij­ke vaar­dig­heid samen in har­mo­nie. Acrobatische land-art nodigt je uit om het beken­de te kij­ken van­uit een fris per­spec­tief. Ontdek de schoon­heid van ver­gan­ke­lijk­heid en de kracht van inter­ac­tie tus­sen arties­te, object en omge­ving.

Tijdens zijn try-outs neemt Kenzo je mee in zijn acro­ba­tisch onder­zoek rond ​‘Makaban’, een zelf­ont­wor­pen con­struc­tie met bam­boe­stok­ken. Naast deze twee try-outs stelt Kenzo ook zijn onder­zoeks­lab open voor het publiek op 1 en 8 decem­ber (13.00 – 17.00 uur).

On 30.11 and 9.12 (6pm, Cas-co), you can dis­co­ver the per­for­man­ce of Kenzo Tokuoka, the cur­rent the­a­tre resi­dent of Cirklabo and 30CC. Tokuoka’s resi­d­en­cy is fra­med within Fringe and Cirklabo Festival. From 1 to 9 December, Japanese-French cir­cus and land-art per­for­mer Kenzo Tokuoka will work at Cas-co’s the­a­tre stu­dio. During his stay, you can expe­rien­ce try-outs and expe­ri­ments focu­sed on the acro­ba­tic land-art pro­cess at dif­fe­rent times.

Kenzo Tokuoka, with more than 15 years of expe­rien­ce as a cir­cus artist, has rede­fi­ned cir­cus art through influ­en­ces of Japanese heri­ta­ge. Traditional cir­cus attri­bu­tes he repla­ces with natu­ral ele­ments such as bam­boo sticks. This cre­a­tes a who­le new uni­ver­se of artis­tic expres­si­on.

During his try-outs, Kenzo will take you into his acro­ba­tic inves­ti­ga­ti­on around ​‘Makaban’, a self-desig­ned con­struc­ti­on with bam­boo sticks. Besides the­se two try-outs, Kenzo will also open his research lab to the public on 1 and 8 December (13:00 — 17:00).
