CKV: Workshop Archief in de artistieke praktijk

Het CKV, Centrum Kunstarchieven Vlaanderen, biedt een masterclass in archiefzorg voor kunstenaars: hoe beheer je je eigen (digitale) archieven. Deze workshop richt zich op praktische methoden voor het archiveren van je praktijk.
Een archief is voor een kunstenaar van fundamenteel belang, of die er nu bewust mee bezig is of niet. Daarom organiseert CKV workshops voor kunstenaars, jong en oud, om hen te ondersteunen bij de eerste stappen in de zorg voor hun archief. De workshop bestaat uit een introductie tot archiefzorg:
We staan stil bij de volgende vragen: ‘Wat is een kunstenaarsarchief?’ en ‘Waarom is het belangrijk om zorg te dragen voor je archief?’ Vervolgens nemen we je aan de hand van praktische voorbeelden mee in de eerste stappen om een archief te bewaren, te sorteren, te beschrijven en te ontsluiten. De nadruk hierbij ligt op het fysieke en digitale archief, en niet op het oeuvre, al zal snel blijken dat deze documenten onlosmakelijk verbonden zijn met de kern van de artistieke praktijk.
De workshop is gratis bij te wonen en is Engelstalig. Omdat we graag interactief met ons publiek te werk gaan, werken we in een groep van maximum 15 deelnemers. Registratie is verplicht (zie link).

An archive is essential for every artist, whether you actively maintain it or not. That’s why we organise workshops for artists of all ages to support them in taking their first steps in caring for their archive:
This workshop offers an introduction to archive care. We will address questions such as: What is an artist’s archive? and Why is it important to care for your archive? Using practical examples, we’ll guide you through the first steps of preserving, sorting, describing, and making an archive accessible. The focus is on both physical and digital archives, not on the oeuvre itself, although it will quickly become clear that these materials are deeply connected to the core of your artistic practice.
The workshop is free to attend and will be held in English. To keep it interactive, we work with small groups of a maximum of 15 participants. Registration is required (see link).
