Sevie Tsampalla werkt als cura­tor op het snij­vlak van heden­daag­se kunst en publie­ke ruim­te. Haar cura­tori­ë­le prak­tijk ver­trekt van­uit een inte­res­se in eco­lo­gie, femi­nis­me en col­lec­tie­ve vor­men van cultuurproductie.

Ze geeft een ach­ter­grond in kunst­ge­schie­de­nis en cul­tu­re­le stu­dies en behaal­de ze een doc­to­raat in Exhibition Studies aan Liverpool John Moores University. Haar onder­zoek ver­ken­de de span­nin­gen en moge­lijk­he­den die ont­staan wan­neer groot­scha­li­ge biën­na­les zich ver­hou­den tot prak­tij­ken van com­mo­ning.

Ze werk­te nauw samen met kun­ste­naars aan ten­toon­stel­lin­gen en nieu­we opdrach­ten in samen­wer­king met artist-run spa­ces en musea, waar­on­der Tate Liverpool, S.M.A.K., Kunsthal Mechelen, Pianofabriek, Castlefield Gallery en AirSpace Gallery.

Ze was mede-cura­tor van Bruges Triennial 2024: Spaces of Possibility en maak­te deel uit van het cura­tori­ë­le team van Liverpool Biennial 2016. Momenteel is ze Programmaregisseur bij LOV2030, waar ze bij­draagt aan het cul­tu­re­le pro­gram­ma van Leuven & Beyond in het kader van Leuven Europese Culturele Hoofdstad 2030.

Sevie Tsampalla is a cura­tor wor­king at the inter­sec­ti­on of con­tem­po­ra­ry art and public spa­ce. Her inte­rests in eco­lo­gy, femi­nism, and col­lec­ti­ve forms of cul­tu­ral pro­duc­ti­on inform her cura­to­ri­al practice. 

With a back­ground in art his­to­ry and cul­tu­ral stu­dies, she holds a PhD in Exhibition Studies from Liverpool John Moores University, whe­re her research explo­red the ten­si­ons and pos­si­bi­li­ties that ari­se when lar­ge-sca­le bien­ni­als enga­ge with com­mo­ning practices. 

She has col­la­bo­ra­ted clo­se­ly with artists to devel­op exhi­bi­ti­ons and new com­mis­si­ons in part­ner­ship with artist-led spa­ces and muse­ums, inclu­ding Tate Liverpool, S.M.A.K., Kunsthal Mechelen, Pianofabriek, Castlefield Gallery, and AirSpace Gallery. 

She was co-cura­tor of Bruges Triennial 2024: Spaces of Possibility and a mem­ber of the cura­to­ri­al team forLiverpool Biennial 2016. She is cur­rent­ly Programme Curator at LOV2030, con­tri­bu­ting to the cul­tu­ral pro­gram­me of Leuven & Beyond as European Capital of Culture 2030.
