Becoming Between Between is een ontmoeting in het tussengebied, waar mens en materie elkaar raken en hervormen. Hier krult metaal als een spier die zich aanspant, bladdert verf als huid die afschilfert, beweegt textiel als ademhaling door een ruimte. Wat hard leek, blijkt poreus; wat stil stond, schuift langzaam op. Het is een landschap waar niets vastligt en alles iets tussenin is.
In de afgelopen maanden hebben vijf interdisciplinaire kunstenaars onderzoek gedaan naar wat hen bindt: de fascinatie voor de mogelijkheden en beperkingen van materialen, voor het spel tussen controle en toeval, en voor de manier waarop een object, een lichaam en een ruimte op elkaar inwerken. Gedurende een werkperiode in de Off the Grid ruimte van Cas-co zoeken de kunstenaars naar de spanning tussen wat nog vorm moet krijgen en wat al aan het afbrokkelen is. Hier, waar de lijnen tussen binnen en buiten vervagen, waar de periferie soms het centrum wordt, ontstaat een dialoog tussen orde en chaos.

Becoming Between Between is a meeting in the in-between, a space where human presence and materiality intertwine and reshape one another. Here, metal coils like a muscle flexing, paint peels like shedding skin, and textiles drift like breath through a room. What once seemed solid reveals itself as porous; what appeared still begins to shift. It is a landscape where nothing is fixed, and everything exists in a state of becoming.
In recent months, five interdisciplinary artists have delved into what connects them: a shared
fascination with the potential and limits of materials, the interplay between control and chance, and the ways objects, bodies, and spaces respond to each other. During a work period in the Off the Grid space at Cas-co, these artists explore the tension between what is yet to take form and what is already breaking down. In this setting, where the boundaries between inside and outside blur and the periphery sometimes takes center stage, a dialogue emerges between order and chaos.

Kunstpodium T - 'Becoming Between Between'
This project is organised in the framework of the Apprentice/Master programme.
Apprentice/Master pairs freshly graduated artists in groups with established artists. They meet regularly and exchange ideas and experiences. This collaboration results in group exhibitions at Kunstpodium T or one of the host locations.
