On November 22, Cas-co will recei­ve cura­tor Heidi Ballet for a lunch lec­tu­re and stu­dio visits. Heidi Ballet is a cura­tor based in Berlin and Brussels. In past pro­jects, Ballet has explo­red topics like the eco­lo­gi­cal cri­sis, class, colo­ni­a­lism and the cul­tu­ral con­struc­ti­on of oceans. During the talk (11.30 a.m. — 12.30 p.m.) she talks about her prac­tice in-depth. Afterwards you can join us for a good con­ver­sa­ti­on and demo­cra­ti­cally pri­ced lunch.

Currently, Heidi Ballet works as a cura­tor at DE SINGEL in Antwerp and is cura­ting a public art pro­ject for the University of Leuven that will be inau­gu­ra­ted in 2025. She was the artis­tic direc­tor of Beaufort 2018 and Beaufort 2021 at the Belgian coast, and co-cura­ted the 2019 Tallinn Photomonth Biennial and the 2017 Lofoten Biennial (LIAF) in Norway. In 2016 she cura­ted the Satellite exhi­bi­ti­on series Our Ocean, Your Horizon at Jeu de Paume Paris and CAPC Bordeaux and The Morality Reflex at CAC Vilnius. Between 2012 and 2015 she wor­ked as a research cura­tor at HKW Berlin for the exhi­bi­ti­on pro­ject After Year Zero which tra­ve­led to the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
