Heidi Ballet
On November 22, Cas-co will receive curator Heidi Ballet for a lunch lecture and studio visits. Heidi Ballet is a curator based in Berlin and Brussels. In past projects, Ballet has explored topics like the ecological crisis, class, colonialism and the cultural construction of oceans. During the talk (11.30 a.m. — 12.30 p.m.) she talks about her practice in-depth. Afterwards you can join us for a good conversation and democratically priced lunch.
Currently, Heidi Ballet works as a curator at DE SINGEL in Antwerp and is curating a public art project for the University of Leuven that will be inaugurated in 2025. She was the artistic director of Beaufort 2018 and Beaufort 2021 at the Belgian coast, and co-curated the 2019 Tallinn Photomonth Biennial and the 2017 Lofoten Biennial (LIAF) in Norway. In 2016 she curated the Satellite exhibition series Our Ocean, Your Horizon at Jeu de Paume Paris and CAPC Bordeaux and The Morality Reflex at CAC Vilnius. Between 2012 and 2015 she worked as a research curator at HKW Berlin for the exhibition project After Year Zero which traveled to the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw.
