On February 5, Cas-co will welcome Brussels-based performance artist and director, writer, researcher, and dramaturge Yasmina Reggad for a lunch lecture and studio visits. During the lecture at 12 noon, she will delve deeper into her practice. Afterwards, you can join us for a good conversation and/or lunch (BYOL).
Yasmina Reggad co-founded and was the curator at aria (artist residency in algiers) and previously worked at the Delfina Foundation (UK), Art Dubai Projects (UAE) and the Bienal das Amazônias (Brazil). Recently, she was curator of Zineb Sedira ’s solo presentation Dreams Have No Titles at the French National Pavilion — the 59th Venice Biennale (2020−2022).
As a performance artist, Yasmina Reggad conducts research and develops projects that investigate alternative systems of knowledge and artistic modes of production as well as explore performative methodologies informed by past and present militant actions and practices. Her projects span different genres from performance and lecture-performance to dance pieces, and sound interventions and (pirate) broadcasting. Her works are often based on unconventional audio-visual and documentary archives, and operates as a companion to the practice of essay writing. Her work was recently staged at New Radicalisms (NL); Performa at Roma Tre University (IT); The Mosaic Rooms (UK); Beursschouwburg, KANAL – Centre Pompidou and Kaaistudio’s (Belgium); La Cantine Syrienne de Montreuil, Cité internationale des arts, Les Rencontres à l’échelle — Mucem; and Chimurenga’s PASS Liberation radio for Documenta 15 (Tanzania), among others.
She is currently preparing a solo presentation for Kunsthal Extra City opening on 28th March 2025.
Yasmina previously contributed to the inauguration of Hussein Shikha’s flag #7 ‘Huriya, Huriya, Huriya, Huriya’ at Cas-co last September.

Op 5 februari verwelkomt Cas-co de in Brussel gevestigde performancekunstenaar en regisseur, schrijver, onderzoeker en dramaturg Yasmina Reggad voor een lunchlezing en studiobezoeken. Tijdens de lezing om 12.00 uur gaat ze dieper in op haar praktijk. Daarna kunt u bij ons terecht voor een goed gesprek en/of lunch (BYOL).
Yasmina Reggad was medeoprichter en curator van aria (kunstenaarsresidentie in Algiers) en werkte eerder bij de Delfina Foundation (VK) en Art Dubai Projects (VAE). Onlangs was ze curator van Zineb Sedira’s solopresentatie Dreams Have No Titles in het Franse Nationale Paviljoen — de 59e Biënnale van Venetië (2020−2022), en artistiek directeur van de eerste editie van de Bienal das Amazônias (Brazilië) in 2020 – 2022.
Als performancekunstenaar doet Yasmina Reggad onderzoek en ontwikkelt ze projecten die alternatieve kennissystemen en artistieke productiewijzen onderzoeken, evenals performatieve methodologieën die zijn geïnformeerd door militante acties en praktijken uit het verleden en heden. Ze heeft persoonlijke projecten gecreëerd die verschillende genres bestrijken, van performance en lezing-performance tot dansstukken, en geluidsinterventies en (piraten)uitzendingen. Haar werk is vaak gebaseerd op onconventionele audiovisuele en documentaire archieven en fungeert als een aanvulling op de praktijk van het schrijven van essays.
