Cristina Lavosi (°1993, Italië) is een beeldend kunstenaar en praktijkgerichte onderzoeker woonachtig in Den Haag (NL). Haar werk houdt zich bezig met het onderzoeken van institutioneel geweld en het uitdagen van machtsstructuren. Haar praktijk onderzoekt hoe visuele en verbale taal wordt geconstrueerd en uitgevoerd door westerse politieke en culturele instellingen om dominante verhalen en normen van leven vorm te geven.Tijdens Let’s Talk Leuven zal Cristina haar inspiratie, onderzoek en interesse in (analoge) en archieffilmpraktijken introduceren. De lezing markeert ook het begin van Cristina’s drie maanden durende residentieperiode bij Off the Grid in Cas-co, die zal culmineren in een presentatieopening op 24 september.
Dries Segers is beeldend kunstenaar, fotograaf, uitgever en onderzoeker. In zijn interdisciplinaire werk onderzoekt hij de waarde van menselijke en aardse elementen om samenwerkingsprocessen op gang te brengen. Het werk verschuift van werk gemaakt van materie die tastbaar is (regen, lucht, water, bomen) in andere gevallen gebruikt en activeert hij onzichtbare elementen (straling, lichtgolven, vervuiling) altijd gericht op materiële en op zilver gebaseerde fotografie.
Tine Deboelpaep (zij/haar) is een multidisciplinair kunstenaar. Haar huidige onderzoek richt zich op hoe onze ideeën over zelfredzaamheid en welzijn historisch zijn gevormd door heersende politieke en economische omstandigheden. Deze interesses uiten zich in (interactieve) sculpturen, installaties, lecture performances en participatieve performances, die alternatieve manieren van onderlinge afhankelijkheid en gemeenschapsvorming onderzoeken. Haar methodologie wordt geleid door intersektioneel feminisme, rechtvaardigheid voor gehandicapten en dramaturgische principes.

Cristina Lavosi (°1993, Italy) is a visual artist and practice-based researcher based in The Hague (NL). Her work is concerned with investigating institutional violence and challenging power structures. Her practice investigates how visual and verbal language is constructed and performed by Western political and cultural institutions to shape dominant narratives and norms of life. During Let’s Talk Leuven, Cristina will introduce her inspiration, research and interest in (analog) and archival film practices.
The talk also marks the start of Cristina’s three-month residency at Off the Grid in Cas-co, which will culminate in a presentation opening on September 24th.
Dries Segers is a visual artist, photographer, matter bender, publisher and researcher. In his interdisciplinary field of work, he explores the value of human and earthly elements to start collaborative processes. The work shifts from work made out of matter which is tangible (rain, air, water, trees) in other cases he uses and activates invisibles (radiation, light waves, pollutions) always focused on material and silver based photography. His quest for togetherness leads to visualizations of the collaboration between species, raising questions about ownership, exploitation, and the protection of our shared world.
Tine Deboelpaep (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist. Her current research focuses on how our ideas of self-reliance and well-being have been historically shaped by prevailing political and economic conditions. These interests manifest themselves in (interactive) sculptures, installations, lecture performances and participatory performances, which explore alternative ways of interdependence and community building. Her methodology is guided by intersectional feminism, disability justice and dramaturgical principles.
