Brenda Guesnet
On February 15, Cas-co will receive curator Brenda Guesnet (IKOB Eupen) for a lunch lecture and studio visits. Brenda Guesnet lives in Brussels and works in Eupen and Brussels. During the talk at 12 o’clock, she will talk about her practice in-depth. Afterwards, you can join us for a good conversation and democratically priced lunch.
Brenda Guesnet (b. 1993, Bad Soden am Taunus, Germany) is Curator and Deputy Director at IKOB – Museum of Contemporary Art in Eupen, in the German-speaking community of Belgium since 2021. At IKOB she has curated solo exhibitions by Veronika Eberhart, Marcin Dudek, Kristina Benjocki, CMMC, Arthur Cordier, Alexandra Tretter and Helen Anna Flanagan, as well as group exhibitions “All our Yesterdays” and the IKOB – Feminist Art Prize (2022), as well as the event and educational programmes of the museum. Previously, she worked in the Artist Liaison department at White Cube, London (2017 — 2020) and as Curatorial Assistant at Tenderpixel Gallery (2016 — 17), London, after completing an MFA in Curating at Goldsmiths, University of London (2015 — 17). Since 2015, she has also been realizing independent curatorial and writing projects, frequently as part of the curatorial collaboration ANGL. She is a co-founder of celador, a new project space in Brussels founded in 2023. Forthcoming exhibitions in 2024 include “The Fountain Show” at Kunsthal Mechelen and “Open M” at M Leuven.
