Maxime Moinet + Book Presentation 'Art au Centre 2022-23'

On May 5, during Atelier in Beeld, Cas-co will receive curator Maxime Moinet (a.o. Mouvements sans Titre, Art au Centre) for an afternoon lecture and studio visits. Simultaneously, Moinet will present the new Art au Centre Catalogue (Art au Centre 2022 – 23: Archives of AAC exhibitions #8 to #13 + Banqueroute project), including works by several of current and former residents (Marjolein Guldentops, Niels Poiz, Siemen van Gaubergen, Chantal van Rijt, Lola Daels, Jan Duerinck and Arthur Cordier). Swing by for the lecture and combine with a visit to one of the multiple open studio’s or presentations.
Maxime Moinet (born 1988) is an art historian and curator, researching new ways of curating and temporary autonomous zones. He graduated from Université de Liège and Universität zu Köln. As the director of Mouvements Sans Titre asbl since 2017, he initiated and curated “Party Content”, a cycle of 12 exhibitions and public acts. One of those acts was “Elexposition”, a project in which Moinet officially ran for the 2018 local elections in order to force city of Liège to glue contemporary art posters on the 33 election boards spread on its territory. Since 2019, Moinet is directing “Art au Centre”, an art walk in the center of Liège made of 25 windows of empty shops put in the hands of 25 artists, three times per year (www.artaucentre.be).

Op 5 mei ontvangt Cas-co curator Maxime Moinet (Mouvements sans Titre, Art au Centre) voor een namiddaglezing en studiobezoeken, tijdens Atelier in Beeld. Voor de gelegenheid presenteert Moinet ook de nieuwe Art au Centre Catalogus (Art au Centre 2022 – 23: Archives of AAC exhibitions #8 to #13 + Banqueroute project), inclusief bijdrqges van verschillende huidige en voormalige residenten (Marjolein Guldentops, Niels Poiz, Siemen van Gaubergen, Chantal van Rijt, Lola Daels, Jan Duerinck en Arthur Cordier). Kom langs voor de lezing en combineer met een bezoek aan één van de vele open studio’s of presentaties!
Maxime Moinet (geboren 1988) is kunsthistoricus en curator, die nieuwe manieren van curatorschap en tijdelijke, autonome zones onderzoekt. Hij studeerde af aan de Université de Liège en de Universität zu Köln. Als directeur van Mouvements Sans Titre vzw sinds 2017, startte en cureerde voor het eerst “Party Content”, een cyclus van 12 tentoonstellingen en publieke acts. Eén van die acts was ‘Elexposition’, een project waarin Moinet zich officieel kandidaat stelde voor de lokale verkiezingen van 2018 om de stad Luik te dwingen posters van hedendaagse kunst te plakken op de 33 verkiezingsborden verspreid over haar grondgebied. Sinds 2019 regisseert Moinet “Art au Centre”, een kunstwandeling in het centrum van Luik met 25 etalages van leegstaande winkels, toegeëigend door 25 kunstenaars, drie keer per jaar (www.artaucentre.be).
