Op 19 okto­ber opent Off the, Grid fees­te­lijk haar deu­ren met de eer­ste expo van THE ARCHIVE HOTEL.

THE ARCHIVE HOTEL is een pro­ject van Ash Bowland over de manie­ren waar­op een kun­ste­naar zich ver­houdt tot een col­lec­tie of archief van beel­den en wel­ke rol ze spe­len in hun artis­tie­ke pro­ces en prak­tijk. Het plat­form nodigt kun­ste­naars uit om hier­over te spre­ken — niet via het tali­ge den­ken — maar in een beel­den­de taal.

Elke 3 maan­den brengt THE ARCHIVE HOTEL een nieu­we publi­ca­tie uit in de vorm van een kun­ste­naar­se­di­tie bestaan­de uit de bij­dra­ge van 10 kun­ste­naars of onderzoekers.

In Off the, Grid wor­den nu 20 van deze beel­den gepre­sen­teerd in een ten­toon­stel­ling, waar de sce­no­gra­fie uit­no­digt voor ver­der gesprek. In woor­den of in beelden.

Saturday October 19^th Off the, Grid laun­ches its visu­al arts pro­gram made by artists with the first exhi­bi­ti­on of THE ARCHIVE HOTEL.

THE ARCHIVE HOTEL is a pro­ject ini­ti­a­ted by artist Ash Bowland focus­sing on the rela­ti­on bet­ween a col­lec­ti­on of ima­ges and the artist’s prac­ti­ce and pro­cess. The plat­form invi­tes artists to con­tri­bu­te to this dia­lo­gue, not via words, but using a visu­al language.

Each 3 months THE ARCHIVE HOTEL relea­ses a new artist’s publi­ca­ti­on fea­tu­ring con­tri­bu­ti­ons by 10 artists, wri­ters or researchers.

In Off the, Grid 20 ima­ges of the­se ima­ges will be pre­sen­ted in an exhi­bi­ti­on in a sce­no­grap­hy which invi­tes to fur­ther con­ver­sa­ti­on. In words or in images.
